Equity firm is looking for a lead building engineer for a new 165,000 square feet property located near the convention center.


The equipment for this building will be commissioned soon and training on the new equipment will be provided.


Experience with the following:


  • System Maintenance & Repair: Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and fire suppression systems to ensure efficient operations
  • Building Operations: Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) and environmental controls to maximize energy efficiency and comfort.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage strict preventative maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failure.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
  • Tenant Relations & Service: Respond to tenant work orders, requests, and emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise third-party vendors and contractors performing specialized repairs or upgrades.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building mechanics.
  • Troubleshooting: Excellent diagnostic skills to identify, diagnose, and repair complex building issues.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment (often up to 50 lbs).
  • Experience & Education: Previous experience as a maintenance technician or engineer is preferred. Certifications such as Universal EPA, HVAC licenses, or BOMI (SMA/SMT) credentials are highly desirable.
  • Tools & Technology: Proficiency in building automation systems (BAS) and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Tenant Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for tenant relations, responding promptly to service requests, addressing concerns, and maintaining strong professional relationships to ensure tenant satisfaction and retention


Schedule

Generally, 40 hours, but frequently requires being on-call for emergencies (e.g., HVAC failure, leaks, etc).
